No Bites, but a Good Picture

November 19th, 2007 by admin

Went out and attempted some striper fishing on the Cape May Rips with absolutely no luck. Did manager to run into a friend who took a picture though. So here we are in the middle of the Delaware river catching no fish.

Finishing Touches for the Boat

June 13th, 2007 by admin

Well a project boat always seems to start out simpler than you expect. Of course all boat owners know that if you own a boat, you have to equally enjoy the use of the boat as you do working on the boat.

So here is what seems to be a good list of finishing touches that seem to make the boat more functional and appealing with little money needed:

1. Fishing rod storage for boats - this really makes life easier if you enjoy to fish.

2. Take Care or Any Teak onboard - Using such products as teak wood cleaner starbrite outdoor

3. Remove stains - If you are wondering how do I clean stains off fiberglass boat floors then consider the following ideas; try the Magic Eraser or Soft Scrub with Bleach.

4. Update yor boat lettering - remove your old lettering and replace it with some brand new die cut pre-mask boat lettering. Fresh lettering really adds to the overall appearance.

I will be adding more things that make a difference as I do them myself. Good Luck with your project boat.

Ethanol in Diesel

June 10th, 2007 by admin

Looks like diesel boat owners have dodged a bullet. The notion of a diesel and ethanol blend is on the back burner for now. The primary reason seems to be the apparent financial cost to actually impliment it. The financial impact would not only be felt by the actual diesel engine owners, but the industry as a whole.

The financial impact would be huge. For boat owners adding ethanol to diesel would make the fuel unstable and require the addition of blowers and a revamp of all electrical systems that are not prepared to function in an unstable atmosphere. The diesel fuel industry would have to replace their storage facilities (both mobile and stationary).

So for right now the US Department of Energy now has this to say about e-diesel:

“The Department of Energy’s Office of Biomass Program has refocused its research and development portfolio and the technology on this page is no longer a research priority.”

So hopefully politics won’t cloud the facts and we breathe a sign of relief, for now.

Great White Shark Caught 8 miles off Delaware

June 7th, 2007 by admin

Delaware’s Fish and Game is testing to confirm that it is indeed a jevenile Great White Shark. The shark weighted 179 lbs and measured 66 inches long.

The angler that brought this dead great white shark in could be facing a rather large fine.
